Power cut protection is an optional extra — it's not included as standard, but it can be added at the time of installation or retrofitted later. When enabled, the system switches your home to battery power automatically if the grid goes down, keeping lights, the fridge and other essentials running. If this is important to you, just let us know when you get a quote and we'll include it in the design.
No — you can charge a battery from the grid using a cheap overnight tariff like Octopus Go and use that stored energy during expensive peak hours. That said, solar and battery together is where you get the real benefit: generating, storing and using your own clean energy around the clock.
In most cases, yes. We regularly retrofit battery storage to existing solar installations. The right battery depends on your current inverter — we'll assess your setup before recommending anything, whether that's Powerwall, Fox ESS or SigenEnergy.
